What Trapper does:
Give a professional electronic MS Powerpoint presentation. His presentations include information about seasons, hatches, presentation, rigging, nymphing, dry fly presentation, and much more. Each of the ~ 250 slides is enhanced with breathtaking photography and/or illustrations. At the conclusion of the presentation members will have a much better understanding of fly fishing as well as tips they can use on any water in the world.
Copies of his books will be for sale after the presentation. He also offers a fly tying demonstration on proven patterns as well as time saving techniques. The demo includes tying tips that stem from tying more than 1,000 dozen flies annually over many years.
What Trapper doesn't do:
Give you a sales pitch with trophy photos of his clients holding really big fish, and tell you how great a guide he is.He doesn't sell guided trips for two main reasons: first because legally, in the State of Montana, only outfitters, can sell trips; and second, and most importantly, because he's always resented going to a TU or FFF meeting and sitting for an hour while an outfitter or lodge owner gave a sales pitch.
Instead, he falls into the camp of guys who want to know about a river; how a guy should fish it; what works and when would be the best times to go. He has no interest in how many fish someone's clients caught. If you're seriously looking for a guide, take one of his cards and contact him. He'll be happy to recommend someone.
