LaFontaine Royal Double Wing

Hook: Tiemco 100 or 101 - standard dry fly hook

Size: 14-16

Thread: 8/0 brown

Tip: Red floss

Tail: Combed out light olive Antron

Rear Wing: Bear, brown

Body: Peacock Herl

Body Hackle: Dark brown, clipped top and bottom

Front Wing: Whitetail belly hair, white

Collar Hackle: Dark brown

Notes: Bear hair can often be found on the internet. Many taxidermists will sell the scraps they cut off when creating bear mounts or rugs. This pattern is a bit on the complex side but I have found it to work when others failed.
